- Carbon steel: The common carbon structural steel grades are Q235A (F, b), Q235B (F, b), Q235C, and Q235D. The quality requirements of these grades are improved in order. The material standard is GB700.
- High quality carbon steel: The representation and code of high quality carbon steel shall be in accordance with GB 221. The requirements for chemical composition and mechanical properties of high-quality carbon steel are given in GB699 standard. The standard lists 31 material grades of 08F, 10F, 15F, 08, 10, 15, 20, 25, ····, 70Mn, The commonly used grades of seamless steel pipe and alloy steel pipe are 08, 10 and 20. 08 and 10 steels are often used as metal gaskets due to their low carbon content, low hardness and good plasticity. 20 steel is commonly used for pipes and fittings,GB 8163, GB 9948, GB 6479, GB 3087, GB 5310 and other standards give the material manufacturing requirements of high-quality carbon steel steel pipes, which are commonly used steel pipe standards for pressure pipes GB 710, GB 711, GB 713, GB 5681, GB 6654 and other standards give the material manufacturing requirements of high-quality carbon steel plates, which are commonly used steel plate standards for pressure pipes. During selection, the casting material manufacturing requirements of high-quality carbon steel in GB 12225, GB 12228 and other standards shall be determined according to its application scope.
- Tool steel: T7 and T8 are often used for manufacturing air picks and punch of stamping dies, and T10 and T11 are used for manufacturing reamers, etc.
- Alloy steel: There are many kinds of alloy steel with wide applications. In pipeline engineering, stainless steel and low alloy steel, quenched and tempered steel, heat resistant steel and low temperature steel are widely used.
